Commercial Cleaning Castle Hill

Steam cleaning has some advantages over other cleaning methods. The most obvious is that it does not use any chemicals, so it will not harm the environment. Not using chemicals also means you don’t have to keep buying more cleaning products, which saves money in the long term. Additionally, steam can often reach deep down places that surface cleaning misses. Lastly, surfaces that are steam cleaned will be ready to use almost immediately – we don’t have to wait for them to dry.

There are a few forms of steam cleaning. The two forms we are most interested in are steam carpet cleaning and steam mops for some hard surface floors.

Carpet Steam Cleaning

We all know to vacuum the carpet at least once per week. This removes virtually all of the surface dust and debris. But carpet, especially thick carpet, will accumulate grit, pollen and other contaminants deep down at the base of the fibres. Normal vacuuming will not remove all of this, So we need to perform a steam cleaning.

Carpet steam cleaning should be performed every six months in the average home. And performed every three months in commercial areas. This type of cleaning requires specialized equipment, so a professional cleaning company will be used.

Steam cleaners for carpets will use a small amount of water, super-heated to form steam. This steam is forced deep down into the carpet and then extracted by the vacuum action. All the toxins, grit, pollen and other pollutants in the carpet are removed by the process.

Carpet steam cleaning extends the life of the carpet, often by several years. This is because it removes the deep-down grit that causes abrasion, and removed mould that can damage carpet fabric.

Steam Mops

Steam mops have been around for about a generation. They provide a quick and effective way to clean hard tiles or most vinyl floors. They use no chemical cleaners (though some have the option of adding vinegar to the steam) so they leave no residue. All the cleaning action is done by the heat of the steam. This removes 99% of bacteria, germs, mould and other contaminants, and it is very effective for removing dirt, dust and grime.

Steam mops are not appropriate for timber floors as they can cause the wood to bend and buckle.
